Super Mario 64 DS is a game made by Nintendo's own Entertainment Analysis and Development group, and published by the company itself exclusively for its own DS handheld device, released on November 21, 2004, in North America, December 2, that same year, in Japan, on February 24, 2005, in Australia, and on March 11, 2005, in Europe, as a remastered version of the first Super Mario 64 title, which appeared back in the 1990s for the company's Nintendo 64 home console.
The game doesn't change many of the classic elements from the original Super Mario 64, in order to draw in players that were pleased by the experience on the Nintendo 64, but does add quite a few enhancements that things like graphics or gameplay as well as the story, which now sees the introduction of more playable characters from the famous Mario franchise, besides the Italian plumber himself, including Yoshi, the friendly dinosaur that carries Mario on his back, and sees players engage in an online cooperative mode, thanks to the Nintendo DS' Wi-Fi Connection.
