Super Mario 64 DS is a game made by Nintendo's own Entertainment Analysis and Development division, just for the company's DS handheld platform, as a remastered edition of the original Super Mario 64, released on the Nintendo 64 back in the late 1990s, and deployed for the new device on November 21, 2004, in North America, December 2, that same year, in Japan, on February 24, 2005, in Australia, and on March 11, 2005, in Europe.
Given the huge appeal of the original Super Mario 64, the DS version doesn't bring that many new things in terms of gameplay, except it introduces new playable characters, besides Mario, like Warior, Yoshi or Luigi, while upgrading the graphics to take advantage of the more powerful DS.
HINTS
Roulette
If you have a large amount of coins and want to keep it that way, simply bet on red (red diamond) and black (black diamond). This is very useful when trying to set or break a record.
Super Mario Slots
Play one round normally. Then, before the reels start spinning again, bet three coins. Just after the reels start spinning, very quickly tap X repeatedly. After about fifty taps, hold the button. If tapped X fast enough and enough times, the reels should start displaying slower, making it easy to select three Super Stars.
Luigi's 5 Card Draw Poker
To get a very high score, exit the game and come back to it if you get a bad hand. Doing so will not effect your coins or winning streak.
Psyche Out!
The mini game tests your psychic abilities. There is a trick to beating this game. If you look carefully at the waving card, you should see a faint outline of the image that is on the back of the card. If you can not see the image immediately, wait a few seconds and you should get a glimpse. This will happen more frequently on the harder levels.
