Super Mario 64 DS is a game made exclusively for the Nintendo DS portable platform, by Nintendo's Entertainment Analysis and Development division, and published by the company itself on November 21, 2004, in North America, December 2, that same year, in Japan, on February 24, 2005, in Australia, and on March 11, 2005, in Europe, as a remastered edition of its classic Nintendo 64 title Super Mario 64.
Because the original game was such a huge success, the development studio didn't add major changes to the new version, keeping the gameplay and the story largely the same, but did improve certain aspects, like graphics, thanks to the more powerful hardware of the Nintendo DS, and even added new characters like Yoshi or Wario, who have special powers different from Mario, the protagonist.
HINTS
Defeating the Goomboss
As Yoshi, run around the arena as fast as possible and try to get behind the Goomboss. Swallow a Goomba that follows him. Wait for it to become an egg and throw it at him. Repeat this two more times.
Fun with Goomboss
Go back to the place behind the Princess's Drawers to the door with an 8 on it with Mario. Enter the fight with Goomboss, and he will eventually throw a mushroom. Touch the mushroom and Mario will grow tall, just like in the classic Mario games.
Defeating King Boo
Get to King Boo by going through the Luigi picture in the Boo House. You can tell where he is when he disappears in the mirror by looking for his shadow on the floor.
Fight Bowser without using Mario
When you collect the numbers of Stars to open the Star Door with Mario, switch with Luigi, Wario, or Yoshi. Note: Yoshi will not grab him, but Bowser will spit out a Luigi cap.
Defeating Lethal Bombs
To kill the Lethal Bombs, either jump at them or punch/kick them ahead of time.
