Super Mario 64 DS is a game made by Nintendo's Entertainment Analysis and Development division, and launched by the Japanese company exclusively for its own Nintendo DS portable console, as a remastered version of the first Super Mario 64 that appeared for the Nintendo 64 console back in the 1990s, being released on the market on November 21, 2004, in North America, December 2, that same year, in Japan, on February 24, 2005, in Australia, and on March 11, 2005, in Europe.
Because Super Mario 64 DS is just a remake of the first Nintendo 64 game, the core mechanics of the original haven't been changed all that much, as players once again need to explore the 3D version of the Mushroom Kingdom, but certain improvements have been made to areas like graphics or gameplay, in order to take advantage of the more powerful DS hardware, while extra playable characters from Nintendo's hugely popular Mario series have been added, including fan favorite Yoshi, and a cooperative mode that takes advantage of the DS' Wi-Fi Connection.
HINTS
Jolly Roger
Easy star
In the Blast To The Stone Pillar mission, it is possible to get the star without having to perfectly aim the cannon. To do this, enter the level as Mario and get the "?" box. You will get the flower and be able to float. Quickly float over the ledge with the star. If timed correctly, you will run out of floating power and fall directly on the ledge. Grab the star and you are done.
Lethal Lava Land
Fly
Make sure you have Mario. Turn around to see an island. Do a long jump to the island. There should be a "?" box. Hit it and a feather appears. You can now fly. Use this for all the Stars on Lethal Lava Land, except the volcano and red coin puzzle levels. If you are very skilled at flying, you can try to do the red coin puzzle with wings, but it is easier to use the power flower obtained in the "?" box next to the puzzle.
