Mahito Yokota, the lead composer working on Super Mario 3D World, says that his team aims to re-create the feeling of earlier titles in the series, with a live band performing most of the tracks included.

Talking to Destructoid, the developer says, “There are naturally a lot of tracks performed live. We're arranging the music with a big-band feel, taking advantage of a full horn section with trumpets and saxophones.”

Super Mario 3D World will be out on November 22 in the United States and seven days later in Europe exclusively on the Wii U.

Gamers will be able to experience the classic platforming mechanics of the series while they are exploring the strange and new Sprixie Kingdom in pursuit of Bowser.

It’s unclear whether Nintendo has any plans to launch the Super Mario 3D World as a standalone product.
