Sunset Overdrive will run at 900p and 30 frames per second on the Xbox One, developer Insomniac Games has confirmed during this year’s edition of the E3 gaming trade show.

Brand Development Director Ryan Schneider has confirmed the frame rate and resolution of the upcoming third-person shooter to GamingBolt, also stating that the company is not currently considering upgrading the resolution later on, after the game is released.

“If you play the game and see the experience, we are pretty comfortable where we are in terms of frame rate and resolution wise. We rather just focus on optimizing what you can see on the screen and that we think will create a better experience overall,” Ryan has explained.

Sunset Overdrive is one of the best Xbox One games showed at E3 earlier this week, and even if it doesn’t run at 1080p, it will still be something to write home about.

The game is currently scheduled to come out on October 28, exclusively for Microsoft’s next-gen home entertainment system, the Xbox One.

The game being sub-1080p shouldn’t be that much of a deal-breaker, as Ryse: Son of Rome was also running at 900p and it turned out to be downright impressive from a visual point of view.

Watch Dogs runs at a native 900p on the PlayStation 4 and 792p on the Xbox One, and the final upscaled result is not noticeably inferior in any way to the two consoles.
