Insomniac Games has released another video from the upcoming Sunset Overdrive, this time around focusing on delivering more information on the extensive customization options available to players.

If you never leave home without your trusty blood-red cowboy boots, you need not fear, the upcoming Xbox One exclusive third-person shooter has you covered, as the sheer amount of accessories you can mix and match to your liking is staggering.

"Anything goes. We have a certain tone we're trying to hit, a certain attitude and feeling for when you're playing the game. There aren't necessarily many vanity pieces, and we've rejected concepts that we thought were too much, maybe too weird or different. But, I mean you can run around as a panda in our game, so we're not necessarily reserved," Gavin Goulden, Sunset Overdrive's lead character artist, tells Polygon.

The game's Art Director Jacinda Chew explains that the game's incredible range of costumes has been separated into three distinct categories, down from the incredible amount of crazy options, in order to offer a more manageable and streamlined customization experience.

She reveals that gamers will be able to choose from Mainstream Fashion, which is pretty much anything that a normal person would wear in real-life, Street Fashion, which is anything that comes out of street culture, such as emo and goth, and Costumes, which puts together stuff that only a particular culture group might wear, or things you might only wear at Halloween.

"Having this level of customization was important for us. Initially we had started looking even deeper into it, like how we could add smaller details, but decided it wasn't worth going that far. The heavier hits (jackets, full outfits etc) get more bang for your buck - you get more doing a new shirt and jacket versus controlling the kind of buttons on your shirt. And since we're a third-person game everything you'll be customizing you'll see. It's not wasted," Goulden says.

The upcoming game tackles the played-out zombie apocalypse scenario from an entirely different perspective, offering a colorful and wacky world instead of the usual gritty survival experiences that the end of the world usually inspires.

The third-person action title focuses on fast-paced combat, with players making use of zip-lines and acrobatics in order to get around the futuristic cityscapes, never standing still while dispatching entire hordes of mutants.

Insomniac Games's Sunset Overdrive is scheduled to come out on October 28 in North America, and on October 31 in Europe, exclusively for the Xbox One platform.
