On August 4

T-Mobile USA seems to go through quite a busy period as, after the official release of its new Sidekick handset, the carrier is also preparing to launch a new version of BlackBerry Curve. Coming in a sunset-colored case, this Curve smartphone is not literally new because, except for its color, there's nothing changed if we compare it with the original titanium-colored Curve.

According to the TmoNews Forum, the fourth largest US mobile operator will launch the Sunset BlackBerry Curve next week, on August 4. Its price is not known for the moment, but with a two-year contract agreement it should be of around $200 (to match the one of the original Curve - which, by the way, is temporarily out of stock).

Both the sunset and the titanium Curve phones are the 8320 model and not the 8310. The handsets are basically the same, save for the fact that the 8320 has Wi-Fi while the 8310 has GPS (and none of them have both features on board).

Except Wi-Fi, T-Mobile's Sunset BlackBerry Curve will also bring the following features: quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, a full QWERTY keyboard, trackball navigation, a 320 x 240 pixel display, myFaves capabilities, Media player, a 2 Megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth, email, full Web browser, SMS and MMS, speakerphone, microSD card support and an 1100 battery capable of lasting up to 4 hours in talk-time mode or up to 17 days in stand-by mode. Of course, all these are packed in a case that measures 4.2 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches (107 x 61 x 15 millimeters) and weighs 3.9 ounces (110 grams).

I'm not sure how many users will actually like the sunset-colored Curve, but from the 31 million T-Mobile subscribers there will surely be some interested in it.
