Matthieu Cormier has updated the Member Edition of its visual web page monitoring tool, SunFlower. The new release (V. 0.10) adds Applescript support, the ability to toggle read/unread on snapshots, and to set all snapshots as read. Other tweaks have been made to the preference panel, where new refresh options have been added. A free version of the software is available for immediate download.

Cleverly named SunFlower, this small (Leopard-only) app “turns its head” each time it spots a change on a commonly visited web page. It monitors the page for any changes that may have occurred since the last time you've been there. It does this by saving a snapshot of the page, which it will compare with future snapshots of the same page. Therefore, you are able to spot the changes immediately, as SunFlower notifies you when snapshots of the same page differ. It's useful for, say, when you're looking for the newest pair of Nike sneakers.

New features brought by the latest version of SunFlower include:

- Applescript support; - Refresh subscriptions on startup preference; - Refresh all subscriptions is now multi-threaded; - Refresh rate preference; - Refresh toolbar button; - Ability to toggle read/unread on snapshots; - Ability to set all snapshots as read.

Version 0.10, however, does more than just add new features. Other major enhancements have been included, such as a revamped refresh subscription logic, refresh all button image, consistent text rendering, a prompt asking users if they want to display the release notes when a newer version is run (also available online now), plugins for snapshot rendering, and updated help documentation.

Lastly, several bugs have also been fixed in the latest release. For example, some users reported that the snapshot view was not cleared when deleting a snapshot. The developer claims to have fixed this error, as well as the ones occurring when deleting two snapshots consecutively.

The free, stripped down version of SunFlower is available here. For more information on the software and the full 0.10 release notes, see the program's official page here.
