As you probably know, some details of the E3 expo have been modified. The expo has been downsized, following to be turned into a more personal event. Previously known as Electronic Entertainment Expo, the event is now called E3 Media Business Summit.

The new reorganized event will take place in sunny Santa Monica, California. To be more exact, the E3 will take place on a 40,000 square-foot property. The date of the event was also changed as it will not take
place in May anymore, and it will run from July 11 to 13. E3 organizers stated that in despite of the large space of the property, only 16,000 square feet will be rented to exhibitors.

Rumors that Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft will not take part in the event anymore appeared, but nothing has been confirmed by the official representatives. ESA officials stated that the event will be invitation-only and that it will be open to both ESA members and non-members. They plan for the new E3 to be more personal but that it will still provide streamlined access to the people and products.

ESA president Doug Lowenstein declared that he plans to combine suite-based meetings with software showcases in a controlled and business-like environment and through this, ESA will reach its final goal of giving high-level media access to the best products.
