Sun has
its own operating system, Solaris, which is free when shipped along with the company's x86 servers, but the clients can also choose among the other 10 operating systems the servers are compatible with.
RedHat officials said they were thrilled about Schwartz's statements.
Neither RedHat, nor Sun has provided more details on the collaboration directions between the two companies, but it's likely they will be announced shortly.
Sun has great expectations for the Galaxy servers, the company hoping that these products will allow it to occupy a better position on the market. According to Gartner, Sun is now on the sixth place, after companies like IBM, Dell, HP and Fujitsu-Siemens.
