“New Moon” is two months away and Summit Entertainment has just kicked the promotional campaign for the second installment in the vampire franchise, “Twilight,” into high gear. After a short while in which the movie studio periodically released one or two posters for the film, an entire gallery has been made available online at Yahoo! Movies.

The new artwork, which will also be featured on outdoor billboards, shows both isolated characters and the groups they belong to. This way, fans get a poster with the Cullens, where Edward and Bella are featured dead in the center in a tight embrace, the Wolf Pack with Jacob looking on as if about to attack, and one with the Volturi, where Jane stands up front, seemingly not dangerous at all, although Stephenie Meyer has made it crystal clear just how deadly Jane can be in the “New Moon” book.

Then comes a series of character posters, with those showing Bella and Edward admittedly the most welcome, as countless fans say on dedicated forums. However, even if the apparently impossible romance between a human and a vampire continues to fascinate and remains the central point of interest for the community, the new group of vampires, the Volturi, is also subject to much hype. Luckily, fans will now have enough material to satisfy the relentless craving for all things “Twilight.”

Speaking of the never-fading interest in the Twilight phenomenon, recent interviews seem to show that even the cast has begun to weary of aspects of it. Being actors is what they wanted from the very start, but they never dreamed – or wanted, for that matter – to be like these international superstars that could hardly go out for a cup of coffee without having tens of paparazzi on the spot within minutes, they say. Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen, and Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) are the most vocal about this and, at the same time, also those who suffer the most from the overexposure.

“I had no idea at all. I’d seen Kristen Stewart in ‘Into the Wild’ and some of the director Catherine Hardwicke’s other films, and that’s all I thought it was, something really small. I don’t want to be an actor for the sake of it. I don’t find any particular pleasure in being an attention-seeker.” Robert Pattinson was saying just the other day in an interview with AnOther Man Magazine.
