14 DAY TRIAL // The first official trailer for “New Moon,” the highly anticipated follow-up to blockbuster “Twilight,” will air on MTV this Sunday, during the MTV Movie Awards. Just to keep fans on their toes, not that they weren’t already, Summit Entertainment has released 15 seconds of the trailer, and the world gets to hear the two lovers exchange “I love yous.”
The footage just made public via Entertainment Tonight shows lovers Bella and gorgeous vampire Edward meeting again, exchanging the words fans never heard them utter before, and then kissing. It might not seem like a lot to a “layman,” but to true “Twilight” fans, as well as to those who have enjoyed the first film but would not refer to themselves by this term, this is massive, as it is being pointed out in several Twilight online communities.
This release comes just on the heels of on-set photos from Italy hitting the Internet, showing, again, Edward and Bella reuniting and sharing a passionate kiss. Unlike the teaser trailer, the photos in question were a smashing hit with female fans since they showed Robert Pattinson wearing only a pair of jeans and some black spots on his upper body – which were actually CGI markers that would later be used in post-production for several enhancements meant to make him look more vampire-like.
Still, given the incredible amount of details on “New Moon” recently made available, it is perhaps more than safe to assume by now that Twilight fans would make up for a large part of the audience at this year’s MTV Movie Awards. As we also reported a while ago, the first 1-minute long completed footage from the second installment of “The Twilight Saga” will air then, keeping up with last year’s tradition, when footage from “Twilight” was also introduced.
“I can exclusively reveal that footage from the Twilight sequel will be shown for the first time during the upcoming MTV Movie Awards. And that’s not all – it gets better… Awards show producer Mark Burnett says [Robert Pattinson], Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will hit the stage together to present the clip. An action-packed, minute-long clip from Twilight showing Edward battling badboy bloodsucker James (Cam Gigandet) made its debut at last year’s awards. It was also the first time Pattinson and Stewart walked a red carpet together in support of the movie.” Twilight Source was saying at the time, citing an E! Online report.
