Twi-hards, brace yourselves: though it’s still a long way to go until “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” drops in theaters, Summit Entertainment has officially kicked off the promo tour de force, by releasing a teaser poster for the much anticipated film.

The teaser for “Breaking Dawn Part 1” (the final book in the original series is getting the “Harry Potter” treatment and has been made into 2 movies) doesn’t show much, but that doesn’t seem to matter all that much for most fans.

It’s better than nothing at all, they seem to be saying on dedicated forums. After months of waiting, Summit is finally releasing something about its biggest movie franchise to date.

“‘Anticlimactic’ is a fitting word, maybe? But hey, now that we’ve got our initial reactions out of the way (‘What’s with the trees?!’ ‘Where are the vampires?!’ ‘Why are there no shirtless Lautners on this poster?!!’), we’ve moved on to more important questions,” MTV writes.

Fans too are wondering why the poster manages to show absolutely nothing (other than a gorgeous sky at sunset), but MTV probably has the answer for that.

The movie studio pulled a similar stunt when promoting the previous installment, “Eclipse,” releasing as teaser a poster with an eclipse of moon, without any of the main characters.

Later on, Summit added vampires to the posters by juxtaposing them to the background, so it’s likely it will do the same for “Breaking Dawn.”

“Clearly, the ‘Breaking Dawn’ teaser is taking its cue from that last one – instead of, y’know, actually showing us the characters. But maybe it’s a good thing? We can’t decide!” MTV adds.

Fans are equally divided: the photo in itself is very beautiful but it’s somewhat of a letdown as compared to what they were expecting.

At the same time, they can imagine how their favorite characters – Bella, Edward and Jacob – will look against this stunning backdrop, so they find consolation in that too.

Either way, the release of this teaser poster does make one thing clear: Summit is getting a head start on the promotion for the upcoming “Twilight” installment.
