A bomb exploded at a checkpoint, by the entry in the US embassy in Turkey. Two people were killed in the blast today, Sky News reports.

The attack in Ankara resulted in the death of a guard, a Turkish national. The bomber, a far-left "militant," is also deceased, according to Turkish interior minister Muammer Guler.

The Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front have been dubbed responsible for other attacks on law enforcement agencies' HQ, in recent years. The organization hasn't claimed the embassy bombing as of yet.

"We can confirm a terrorist blast at a checkpoint on the perimeter of our embassy compound in Ankara, Turkey, at 1.13pm local time, or 6:13 am ET," said spokeswoman Victoria Nuland in her official statement.

Mashable posted this clip, illustrating how the bomb damaged the embassy building front. The clip of the aftermath was uploaded by YouTube user Michael Nichael, possibly a witness.
