American honey brand Sue Bee has decided to green up its ways by switching from using metal or plastic lids to using wooden ones. The wooden lids top three different syrup flavors.

According to the people behind Sue Bee, they are much more eco-friendly than the plastic and metal ones, simply because the latter linger on in the environment for what seems to be an eternity if not properly disposed of.

Sue Bee promised that the new eco-friendly lids were made of Acacia and Teak wood from managed forests, so one does not have to worry that they are contributing to the destruction of the world's natural ecosystems while enjoying a nice cup of tea with some honey.

The new jar lids also have a rope handle fitted in their center, Trend Hunter says. The handle is intended to make it easier for your average Yogi Bear and the Boo-Boos in their entourage get to the honey.
