Sudden Strike 3 Arms for Victory has finally been dated for North America too. Fireglow Games has made it official yesterday, with the release of a report, disclosing a 10th March 2008 release date for their strategy/warfare-simulation game in North America, for which PAL folks can already download a map pack. A demo for Sudden Strike 3 is also available, right HERE.

Sudden Strike 3: Arms for Victory includes land and sea operations, with aviation acting as a support force for both. Sea forces are also supported by submarines that can for example hunt down an enemy supply convoy, as the game's official website informs. Carrier-based aviation will support both naval and land operation when possible but it is also possible to develop in depth coastal defence, thus, careful control of player naval and air forces will be the key to successful land operations. Harbors and airfields too play an important role. They act as gates for transports providing supplies and reinforcement. As for the land operations, they cover vast areas, making reconnaissance an essential part of gameplay.

Main features: ■ Fully interactive landscape (all objects can be destroyed, all buildings and pillboxes can be used as shelter) ■ Massive operations on big maps, strategic scale of the maps (front line can be a few kilometres long) ■ Thousands of units fighting in real time ■ More than 300 tanks, ships, soldiers, guns and planes with original weapons built to scale ■ Great sounds, 5.1 supported, nations speak native languages ■ New feature - advanced Micro AI-behaviour allows your troops to act exactly as you plan ■ Joint naval and ground operations, air raids, artillery strikes etc. ■ State-of-the-art technology to render 3D landscape, realistic lines of sight and fire ■ Spectacular visual & lighting effects ■ Multiplayer mode: up to 8 players, GameSpy supported ■ Five campaigns playable for American, British, German, Japanese and Soviet sides

The multiplayer maps which DVD owners of the game can download right here, allow for all control points to be captured once. There is however a new single-player mission available too.

Here's a bit of info on each map, as provided by the publisher:

Tongs This peculiar map contains a large island in the middle. It can be played by 2 to 6 people. There are 5 bridges on the map and a lot of flags to fight for.

Elimination This map features kill-em-all style on a flat map.

Untermehmen VII "C" This hardcore single mission features the old good Sudden Strike play. You have a limited amount of reinforcements ... and the enemy has much more. You will like it.

Sudden Strike 3 Arms for Victory launches on the 10th of March this year in North America, exclusively for PC.
