But not wet in the kinky way

SubMerged is the title of a new game announced by Namco Networks, a game that wants to be both challenging and fun, coming as a puzzle adventure set in an underwater scenery.

From the screenshots available we could say the game resembles the good old Tetris, only that the pieces players have to deal with go up instead of going down. Why is that? For the simple reason that, as we already mentioned, the game is an underwater one and the pieces seem to be lighter than the water - therefore, as an implacable consequence of the laws of physics, they're always going up.

The game's goal is to knock down the "anchored puzzle pieces" from above by merging the pieces that are heading towards the surface. While playing, the underwater life will surround you, showing you the depth of the sea (or was it an ocean?).

SubMerged offers more than 30 levels that can be tried in three playing modes: easy, medium and hard. Moreover, there's an "endless" mode too, which enables users to (virtually) stay underwater and play as long as they want, with the sole condition of not losing.

Talking about the new game, Scott Rubin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Namco Networks, said: "With addictive game-play and advanced graphics, SubMerged is the perfect game for anyone looking for a challenging puzzler. Casual games continue to rise in popularity across platforms. This trend is especially prevalent on mobile phones where consumer demand for fun, unique casual games like SubMerged continues to increase."

In the press release that announced the launch of SubMerged, Namco said the game was already available, but on the company's website there are no details about how you can purchase the game. Anyway, users will probably be able to try the new underwater puzzle in the next few days, when Namco will also post the list with the compatible phones (which is, for the moment, marked as "coming soon").
