Styx: Master of Shadows steps out from its hiding place in order to star in a brand-new teaser video and some screenshots. It appears that not even master thieves are safe from paparazzi these days.

The upcoming game from French developer Cyanide Studio is offering players the chance to play as a goblin anti-hero who uses his wide array of talents to climb the vast Tower of Akenash.

Styx is a master assassin and thief, and he can make anything that sits in his paths go away, but you have to be careful not to leave any clues behind, so as not to alert the vigilant guards of your presence.

In the effort to keep his presence a secret, Styx will be able to carry fallen guards' bodies to reclusive areas, hiding them where nobody can accidentally stumble upon them.

The Tower of Akenash is not inhabited solely by humans and elves, and a handful of other fantastic creatures also roam the foreboding halls and passages of the vast structure, and Styx is adept at avoiding becoming their next lunch.

Styx: Master of Shadows is an infiltration game with role-playing elements, currently being developed for the PC, following, first of all, the daring adventures of the Goblins. Being over two centuries old, Styx has become a master in the arts of stealth, theft and murder.

He is driven by the desire to get filthy rich and discover more about his true origins, and he knows that the miles-high Tower of Akenash is where his best chances lie. It is there that the humans and elves hide and protect the Tree, the only source of the Amber.

Players will be able to fight and slyly sneak their way to the top of the immense vertical levels, completing numerous missions with varied objectives along the way, from murder and information recovery to stealing precious artifacts and gradually reconstructing the puzzle that will unveil the mystery of Styx's origins.

The levels are completely open, and all objectives offer several different paths that allow players to opt what their approach will be.

Styx: Master of Shadows also includes ample role-playing game mechanics, allowing players to gain experience and unlock new skills and moves in six different talent trees. In addition, it offers you the opportunity to acquire extraordinary powers from the Amber flowing in the Source Tree, such as becoming invisible or creating an illusion that allows you to manipulate objects and distract enemies.
