It’s a FAB machine and does everything advertised. Sony Software patches must be applied and this can be a pain as one of the bugs appears to be in the updater! (this must be done manually) After that - flawless operation.

One massive problem is the machine is advertised with a video RAM (carefully worded) as a total of 319MB. This is horrifically misleading. It comes with just 64MB of onboard video RAM (on the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 card) the rest is shared memory, which cripples it for games such as NWN2. Games these days are on-board video memory bound - a major error on Sony's part to choose this option - and a major error on NVIDA's part to offer a card with so little memory that cripples the excellent GPU, difficult to see the logic. The video card may support 128MB on board RAM but nothing can be done to upgrade a laptop it’s all built into the motherboard.
