Toshiba added to its MP3 player line two new devices dedicated to fashion and music lovers. The new Gigabeat players will come in two capacities, 512MB and 1GB, and will have multi color and black designs.

First we must say that the new Gigabeat players are flash memory based. Both have a 1.1 inch OLED display, capable of displaying
photos; JPEG format is supported.

The new Gigabeat players are PlaysForSure compatible (Microsoft Windows Media Player cetification) and support WMA, MP3 and WAV audio formats. Other features available are an FM tuner and a voice recorder.

MEP-10FK is the Gigabeat 1GB black model, while MEP-05FR is the smaller 512 MB model and comes in a multicolored look (pink, purple, beige and white). Also, the devices feature a lanyard for users to wear them around their neck.

The prices announced for the new Gigabeat players are US$129 for the 512 MB model and US$179 for the 1 GB version.

Again, iPod may have another rival. The new Gigabeat player has enough features to compete with big brother iPod, a good design, and extra options such as the integrated FM tuner.
