Choose from 8 vehicles, create your own tracks and save replays

If you're a fan of driving games as well as reaking havoc, Stunt Playground is the perfect game for you. A developer was able to port it to Macs as well, so everyone could experience the realistic physics of an object on four wheels that's out of control. Players can even design their own tracks to their hearts' content, save them, and play 15-second replays which they can view from any angle.

"Stunt Playground is a fully 3D stunt driving game for the windows PC. the game features extremely realistic physics that are fully integrated into both the driving, and the editor as well. this means you can arrange the various props and jumps in any way imaginable. of course you can save and load your creations for later as well," says the developer's description of Stunt Playground.

You know how gamers are, keeping track of all their scores and bragging to friends about their in-game accomplishments, right? Well, talking of the "instant replays" which can be recorded up to 15 seconds in length, the developer says you can "playback your stunt from any angle [...] save/load these replays, so your friends will believe you!" So, if you jump 1,000 feet across the blue, over a dozen shipping containers, through 8 flaming rings, acheiving a 3000-degree spin and land on four wheels, you can prove it. Oh, there are no flaming rings by the way.

The "impressive 3D graphics" I couldn't really notice (next-gen must be getting to me), but the "realtime shadows and reflections" are there. However, the real satisfaction is of course the gameplay itself. I've had a go with it myself and I can assure you it's a fun packed piece of ported software. Quite a feat for a ported game, actually!

You can choose from 8 vehicles (all with their own physical properties, as you can imagine), set up lots of props, place them wherever and however you want and start jumping. Here, see a video of the game in action.

Stunt Playground as well as the game's source code are available for free download right here. Have fun!
