For those unaware, the 1st of October marks the World Vegetarian Day, and PETA members decided that the best way to celebrate this day and jump start the World Week for the Abolition of Meat was to introduce the people living in India to a new add featuring a supermodel wearing nothing but cellophane.

Sources report that Anupama Varma (i.e. the supermodel featured in this ad) is a firm believer in vegetarianism, which is why she agreed to take part in this campaign in the first place.

In one of her more recent interviews, the model told members of the press that, “I hope my PETA ad helps challenge people think about what 'meat' is. Eating flesh means eating the corpse of a tortured animal who did not want to die.”

Apparently, her wearing a cellophane dress and holding on to a meat hook will help raise awareness with respect to how animals are being treated by the food industry.
