14 DAY TRIAL // "Butt chugging" landed one Tennessee student in the hospital, this weekend. Doctors reported that his extremely high blood-alcohol of over .4 had led to severe alcohol poisoning.
Alexander P. Broughton was brought to a hospital in Knoxville on Saturday morning, after a night of partying with his fraternity brothers at Pi Kappa Alpha. The 20-year-old is studying at the University Of Tennessee, and his buddies were not doing very well either.
Doctors reported that Broughton had ingested alcohol through the wrong end, leading to extreme intoxication. Their examination also revealed signs of abuse that is likely to have happened after he passed out.
“[He was]extremely intoxicated and showed signs of physical and possible sexual assault,” Huffington Post informs.
The police was notified immediately, as the boy is underage. Officers head it to the Pi Kappa Alpha dormitory and found more underage men passed out on the hallways and in their bedrooms. “Bags from wine boxes, some empty and some partially empty, strewn across the halls and rooms" were also discovered.
Fraternity members have been suspended for 30 days, pending a disciplinary hearing. A formal investigation is on the way.
The practice of ingesting alcohol through the rear is also used in alcohol enemas. A tube or a hose is used to carry the liquid into the intestinal tract, and, from there, it reaches the blood stream in a matter of minutes. The results are surprising and very dangerous.

"Because the primary job of the intestines is to absorb nutrients into the body, if you put alcohol directly into your colon, it will be absorbed much more rapidly than it would be if it entered your body orally. [You might] use too much alcohol or keep it inside for too long. […] It can make you very drunk, very quickly,” users said.
Last year, in Phoenix, teens were hospitalized after experimenting with vodka tampons to get drunk. Both women and men were using the tampons.
