“I have no unbelievably special skills,” the student states in his application

Many students covet internships on Wall Street, but very few achieve that goal. A cover letter shows employers how the applicant sees the world.

It's a chance for them to show they can separate themselves from other candidates. Often, it's the venue for them to appear narcissistic and conceited. One young man broke that cycle, writing a perfectly blunt cover letter, that soon went viral.

“I won’t waste your time inflating my credentials, throwing around exaggerated job titles, or feeding you a line of [Expletive] how my past experiences and skill set align perfectly for an investment banking internship.  The truth is I have no unbelievably special skills or genius eccentricities,” he writes.

His application must have been like a breath of fresh air for Human Resources staff, and he was actually contacted by a lot of firms that wanted him to work for them.
