Authorities claim that 20-year-old university student Matthew Higgins is responsible for hacking into the computer systems of his former school, Eirias High School of Colwyn Bay, in an attempt to gain access to the details of a girl. The incident is said to have occurred while he was attending high school.

According to the BBC, the suspect – the son of a police inspector – is denying the accusations, stating that he has been set up by someone else who hacked into his computer.

However, investigators found that right after the breach took place, Higgins bragged about his “accomplishment” on a hacker forum.

Shortly afterwards, he sent an email to the educational institution to warn them about the existence of security holes in their systems.

On the other hand, prosecutors believe that the student is “playing a game of bluff.”
