Stubbs the Zombie in "Rebel Without a Pulse", or simply Stubbs the Zombie, is a third-person zombie game developed by Wideload Games, published by Aspyr Media, and built on the Halo engine. It was released on October 18, 2005 for the Xbox, and was released for Windows and Mac OS X in November that same year. Finally, the game was released on February 10, 2006 in Europe.

Stubbs gameplay is unusual because the player plays as a zombie, rather than a human, and the primary goal is therefore to kill and eat the brains of humans. Eating brains gives back a certain amount of lost health to the player as well as converting humans into zombies, causing them to fight alongside the player.

The player also has the option of beating enemies to death with melee strikes to transform them into zombies.

CHEATS

Use a text editor to create a file named init.txt in the game folder. Enter the following lines in the file to allow unlimited ammunition and health in the game.

cheat_deathless_player 1
cheat_infinite_ammo 1

UNLOCKABLES

Bonus sequences
Play the Stubbs vs. Chief Masters Dance Battle and get a "Perfect" rating in all rounds (including the bonus one) to see a bonus sequence with a hovering limousine.

On the farm level in the first big barn there are three levels. You can drop to the bottom without dying. Kill all the folks, and then find a door with a American flag. After you kill all the folks, you will see a hidden intermission sequence of Stubbs "rallying the troops".

Developer commentary
Collect the hidden hippo heads in Insane mode to hear a developer commentary track.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Killer jeep
On the level before last one there are army men driving in jeeps. Kill both of them without making the jeep flip over. The driver should die under the jeep and come back as a zombie. He will be dead under the jeep and when he get back up the jeep will kill him.

Zombie legs still standing with top half hovering
On the farm level, either get a chain-saw person to rip a person or zombie in half or use the tractor to rip a person or zombie in half. The legs will still be standing up for a split second; you must look quickly.

Talking sheep
On the farm level, let the sheep escape and go to the trees. A sheep will be there and it will say "From this day onwards zombies and sheep will be friends."
