14 DAY TRIAL // Sprint and StubHub, one of the largest ticket marketplace in the world, have just announced they will offer carrier's customers that ability to purchase tickets to college and pro football games of the 2011-12 season via Spring Football Live application.
Sprint Football Live is preloaded on most Sprint devices that run Android operating system, but is also available as a free download from Android Market, and is compatible with all smartphones running Android 2.3 and up.
Sprint customers who already have the Sprint Football Live app pre-installed will be able to buy tickets to games via links on the app’s “Team Schedule” pages, “Game Center,” and “Pro” and “College” home screens.
With the new extension of the application, users will be able to access StubHub directly within the Sprint Football Live to purchase tickets for college and pro football games, including bowl games and the playoffs.
According to the carrier, purchasing through the Android app will enable users the same FanProtect Guarantee along with the last minute flexibility StubHub feature.
“Sprint Football Live users will find our agreement with StubHub allows them to take their support for their favorite teams a step farther – by offering them a more convenient way to purchase tickets to upcoming college and pro games even when they aren’t near their desktop or laptop,” said Tim Considine, director of sports marketing at Sprint.
Sprint Football Live allows carrier's customers to watch live telecasts of college games from ESPN Mobile TV and Notre Dame on NBC, as well as live pro and college Game Centers with real-time stats and scores.
“StubHub’s extension within Sprint Football Live is another example of the many capabilities football fans will find available within this app, enabling them to get the most out of their mobile football experience,” concluded Considine.
It is also worth mentioning that StubHub already has free ticket applications for Android, Windows Phone, iPhone and iPod touch devices.
