Power supplies, like all other hardware parts, come in many versions, since they cater to the needs of various systems, and it looks like Club 3D went for the top of the grid when it created the CSP-X1200CB.

Club 3D may be best known for all the video controllers it makes, but it doesn't deal in just that one type of PC component.

In fact, one could say that the company sometimes created other hardware so it can be sure that its the rest of the parts in a PC can match what its cards can do.

That said, what the outfit now delivered is a high-end power supply which can run more than one video board at once.

The newcomer is named CSP-X1200CB and, although it doesn't have a high enough efficiency to comply with the 80Plus Gold rating, does manage 80Plus Silver.

Of course, it should be noted that even the lowest 80Plus rank implies a significant level of energy efficiency, so while Silver is nowhere near 80Plus Platinum, it definitely associates with high-tier products.

The 105°C and 85°C capacitors used in its making make sure it is durable and reliable enough, not to mention stable enough, for it to cope with multiple video boards.

More than one PCI Express power connectors naturally exist, while a semi-modular design reduces cable clutter, for better airflow.

What's more, the temperature of the PSU is kept at manageable levels by the 135mm cooling fan, even at high loads.

Speaking of just how much energy this 1,200W PSU can dish out, four +12V rails exist, for a total of 40A/1,020W.

For a better idea of what one can expect, the official product page illustrates three Radeon HD 6850 cards running in tandem. Quad board setups are also possible, provided the graphics card “complies to power supply specification.”
