Heidi Montag fires psychic, says she’s “strong, independent woman” who can manage herself

Just a few days ago, MTV’s “The Hills” star Heidi Montag was proudly announcing that, in light of changes for the better in her career, she was parting ways with her husband as a manager and hiring a psychic, spiritual healer Aiden Chase, instead. However, it could very well be that she made that decision in a haste because, according to PopEater, Montag is again changing her mind, telling the media she’ll be managing herself from now on.

As speculation is making the rounds that the initial announcement was nothing but a means to grab a few headlines and thus make some money by publicity, Heidi herself is keeping rather mum on the topic, saying only that she now wishes she didn’t hurry with the announcement in the first place. Nevertheless, rumors say that either Chase wanted a bigger cut of Heidi’s money, including a share of what she made on “The Hills,” or that he tried to land other clients by using his newly-established connection with her. The bottom line is that he’s out of the picture.

“‘I have decided to part ways with Mr. Chase both as a manager and as a psychic and will scrutinize my business decisions more carefully in the future,’ Montag told [People magazine], apparently with a straight face. ‘I will now be managing my own career as a strong and independent woman.’ It was a spiritually wonderful beginning for the two. Chase worked as Montag’s ‘intuitive healer’ for a month after her 10 plastic surgeries. After that, Montag gave Chase the job held by husband Spencer Pratt for five years,” PopEater writes of the latest developments in Montag’s professional life.

“In a statement to PopEater, Chase said he was ‘not aware of any change in my business relationship with Heidi Montag’ other than what was on the Internet. What kind of psychic is this? Montag mentioned ‘recent behavior’ on both the set of ‘The Hills’ and the star-studded movie ‘Just Go For It’ as the reason for her to ‘question the decision’ of hiring Chase. She was not specific on the behavior. But Chase denied that he crashed any set or tried to poach Audrina Patridge as a client,” the same e-zine writes.

As we also informed you a few days ago, Montag recently landed a cameo in the upcoming comedy “Just Go for It,” also starring Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler and Brooklyn Decker. It’s her first role in a feature film and she sees in landing it her first step towards building a successful career in cinema – and, presumably, Chase was the one who got her the part.
