14 DAY TRIAL // During the Sony E3 2015 press conference, Capcom stepped forward to confirm a few new things about Street Fighter V, its next fighting game, including two characters, in the form Cammy and Birdie, as well as a spring 2016 debut period and a first beta stage that's going to appear on PS4 in July.
Street Fighter V was revealed to the world earlier this year, with Capcom surprising quite a few fighting game fans by confirming that it would launch the long-awaited game only on PC and PS4, skipping over the Xbox One due to a special partnership with Sony.
Cammy and Birdie join the roster
Now, during the Sony E3 2015 press event that took place just a few hours ago, Capcom confirmed that two new fighters would be included in the upcoming game, in the form of Cammy and Birdie.
As you can see in the gameplay video below, Cammy returns and she's both faster and stronger than previous iterations of the series. She can employ a series of quick ground and aerial attacks, so she's perfect for players who like to go on the offense.
Meanwhile, Birdie makes a return after having last appeared in the Alpha series over 10 years ago. While he does sport a bigger belly, he's been redesigned and reimagined by Capcom, packing fierce power in his long-range chain attacks and up-close command grabs. Both Cammy and Birdie have special V abilities, including V-Skill and V-Trigger.
PS4 beta arrives in July, full game launches in spring of 2016
Besides the new characters, Capcom also confirmed that Street Fighter V would launch in spring of 2016 worldwide across PC and PS4. However, PS4 owners will be able to enjoy an exclusive beta stage between July 23 and July 28. Those who pre-order in North America are automatically included in the test phase.
Rest assured that more such beta stages are going to be organized in the future, so expect to hear and see more of the game soon.
