GamePro has confirmed that Street Fighter IV for iPhone and iPod touch will feature eight characters, including fan favorites like Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim. The game’s graphics are breathtaking, as shown in a sneak-peek video, while the title will cost $10 (higher than our 7$ prediction) to get from the App Store in March.

Earlier this month, IGN was able to confirm that Capcom had been working for months on the suitable controls for a platform with no physical buttons. The game developer eventually employed a virtual pad and customizable buttons, in an effort to recreate arcade controls, IGN said at the time. The game would launch with a multiplayer mode, a Dojo Mode for training, and other attractive gameplay elements, the site revealed.

The IGN report offered details about the iPhone port of Street Fighter IV, including:

- Street Fighter IV will feature the same character models, just slightly scaled down, with minimal loss of detail or color; - fan-favorite fighters beyond Ryu and Ken will be available, although these are the only two characters Capcom was willing to confirm; - each fighter has their complete move set, including the Ultras, and over-the-top Ultra animations; - there will be a number of control configurations to choose from to find your favorite position, button transparency, and overall set-up; - two player VS battles via Bluetooth, just like the arcade or console edition.

Now, Capcom representative Michael Larsen tells GamePro that, “When the game lands in the App Store next month, it will sell for $9.99.” The gaming site adds that, “During our time with the title, we were able to scope out the 8-character roster. Making the cut for the iPhone iteration of the arcade hit are Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison and Street Fighter IV newbie Abel.” As noted above, a gameplay demonstration video is available over at GamePro.
