Strauss Zelnick, the chief executive officer of video game publisher Take Two, says that he expects impressive sales from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V, better than those for any previous titles in the series.

Speaking during the Cowen Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, the executive is quoted by Gamespot as saying that GTA V will perform better than the company projects.

Retailers have already said that GTA V is setting pre-order records for the franchise.

The series has so far managed to move more than 125 million units to gamers.

The game will be launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft on September 17.

Take Two and Rockstar have not commented on availability on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
