It will let dentists plan your implants and surgeries

Pulling the random, achy tooth is a straightforward enough activity, but dentists often have to make much more complex plans, for implants, braces and surgeries. So, to make life easier on them, Stratasys and 3Shape Implant Studio have teamed up.

Which is to say, the Stratasys Objet30 OrthoDesk and Objet Eden 3D printers will be outfitted with the 3Shape Implant Studio Implant Planning and Surgical Guides Design software, straight from the factory.

The software can let medics plan implants, prosthetics, drill guides, etc.

It will both streamline the process and reduce the costs that patients will need to cover. Chair-time will be reduced as well, and prosthetics should feel more natural than ever.

To make this all possible, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans are combined with 3Shape's TRIOS digital impressions.

Once they're done planning, 3Shape users can generate an STL file optimized for Stratasys dental 3D printing systems.
