Lots of spam to go around for everyone

Would you like to have your computer infected and have it spread the love that the Storm botnet has for everybody? Then, don't open emails that have something of the following in their title: "Looking for that perfect Valentine's Day Gift?" or "Make Valentine's Day Night a memorable one." While I don't doubt there truly are some experts that could deliver real advice, chances are you've been sent a "Will you be my Valentine bitch?" email from Storm.

Currently operating at only 10-20 percent of its capacity, the botnet couldn't miss the opportunity to find gullible people, who would do just anything for their better half, including free advice from people they don't know. Remember what your mom used to tell you when you were little, not to talk to strangers? This applies perfectly.

Messages that have those headers (and some more similar ones that will probably be sent from today forth) have a hyperlink embedded in the body of the email that points to a VPXL spam website. In case you weren't familiar with VPXL, it's the formula purporting to be an enlargement supplement for men. That's why the V Day's Night was to be memorable, I guess.

The Valentine's Day spam continues a trend started in January that has love messages being sent and received, all infected and as useful as an STD, just that now the filled with 'feeling' emails have been given a specific theme.

China's anti-virus authorities have warned on Sunday against computer viruses that take advantage of the same human vulnerability (love) and install on your computer Vbs_Valentin.A. It is spread through email and online chat systems, such as MSN and QQ. Some other viruses you should look for are Worm-blebla.B and VBS-ILoveyou, coming via Valentine's blessings. Also, don't open email containing Spanish characters, if you don't know the sender, just to stay on the safe side.

Love each other!
