Tornado alerts had been issued for the area, mentioning the town specifically

Approximately 100 vehicles have been overturned as a major tornado hit Northwest Georgia today, Wednesday, January 30. Interstate 75 has been closed down near Adairsville, at Exit 301.

Alabama WX informs that the tornado was first spotted in the proximity of Lindale, at 10:01 a.m. local time.

Adairsville registered the most damage, with several buildings incurring structural issues. The storm reached a local plant, which sources have identified as one owned by Daiki, causing major wreckage.

20 minutes before the tornado reached the area, the National Weather Service issued a warning, mentioning Adairsville specifically.

“Law enforcement have reported a funnel cloud and trees down with this storm.

“Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Adairsville,” their report reads.
