It's safe to say that the latest X-Men movie, “Days of Future Past” was a big success, big enough to spark a new project in the franchise, aptly entitled “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Days ago, it was confirmed that director Bryan Singer was coming back to direct, despite that mishap with the molestation lawsuit.

A recent report indicates that several big names in the franchise are not coming back however. Writer and producer for the film Simon Kinberg has confirmed that the roles of Storm, Cyclops and Jean are going to be recast for the next movie.

The producer explains that the recast is necessary since the movie takes place in the past and they need to be portrayed by younger actors.

“If we included some of the original X-Men like Storm and Jean and Scott [Summers aka Cyclops] and others in ‘Apocalypse’, yeah, we would have to recast them because ‘Apocalypse’ takes place a good 20 years before ‘X1’, which now insanely was 10 to 15 years ago,” Kinberg said in an interview quoted by Aceshowbiz.

The same process took place for the “Days of Future Past” movie, which needed younger versions of Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. The casting directors did a wonderful job, everyone can agree, by selecting James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

The big question now is going to be who replaces Halle Berry (Storm), James Marsden (Cyclops) and Famke Janssen (Jean Grey) in the movie that is shaping up to be the most epic in the franchise.
