The PMP stole design line from Zvue

Here's another copycat in the electronic industry; apparently, MP3 and portable media players are the main items to be copied. Another example is the Storex Ownzic IV20 portable media player, which sounds pretty wacky and is said to be identical with another PMP already on the market, HandHeld ZVUE 250, to be more specific.

They reveal the same annoying ugly casing and a comfortable design line, which definitely won't fit in your jeans pockets, unless you want to look ridiculous.

Regarding its capabilities, the portable device can deal with a lot of popular file formats on the market, such as MPEG 4, AVI for video files, MP3 and WAV for the music media content and finally JPEG only to decode the photo files. Private lightening is possible with the use of the built-in 2.5mm headphone jack, which successfully replaces the 3.5 one.

There are also some extra decent options integrated in the technical list, such as an FM tuner and a voice recorder. It claims a battery life of about 10 hours and uses the USB 2.0 high-speed file transfer interface.

The PMP's dimensions allow a comfortable use, and enable the owner to carry it in the jeans pockets, although it might look a little too bulky. It measures about 90 x 38 x 12 mm, weighting about 40grams. It was packed in a maximum 2GB storage capacity. Even if compared to ZVUE, the HandHeld device is far better. Price is another issue that makes the difference between the two devices, as the 2GB model from Storex retails online for about 80 euros and can reach to 114 bucks a piece, while a ZVUE PMP is only $100 a pop, even if its specs list is by far...more generous! Not cool!
