Over the past few years, USB flash drives have become pretty much the most popular type of portable data storage solution there is, as they allow users to carry around a relatively high number of files, documents and various types of multimedia content in a very small and tough package. However, since the basic functions provided by these devices are pretty much the same, manufacturers were forced to become very innovative in the design area, and this is how certain strange models appeared, much like the one you're about to see as follows, namely the Zip Zip USB
Memory Brick, provided by the Australian company ZipZip.
Thus, although the manufacturer is not actually connected to Lego in any way (basically, ZipZip "borrowed" the design of the bricks), the company's flash drives have exactly that distinctive, brick shape, and come in several colors, namely Red, Yellow, Green, Blue & Black, although their size is standard, of 31mm x15mm x10mm.
Furthermore, the Zip Zip Memory Bricks offer an extensive Lego-like behavior, since they can be stacked on top of each other like any building block, while the lid conveniently clips on top of the memory block while it is plugged into a computer. Furthermore, they provide entry-level storage capacities, since they're available in 1 GB and 2 GB models, and, like all the devices of this type available on the market, they connect to a host computer via an USB 2.0 interface, which is used both for drawing power and for transferring data at speeds of up to 480 Mbps.
The devices from ZipZip retail for around 65 US dollars (the 2 GB model) or 49 US dollars (the 1 GB model), which makes them a lot more expensive than ordinary flash drives but, in the mean time, they'll probably prove quite popular among the hardcore Lego fans.
