Although Windows Phone 8 is its primary focus at the moment, Nokia is not leaving the Series 40 platform aside either, and new and updated apps are being pushed for the OS constantly.

The latest of them is a new version of the Store client for S40, which is available only as a beta release at the moment, aimed at testing.

The new application release was made available for S40 touch-and-type devices, and will replace the existing version of the software on them.

The new release comes with various fixes inside, as well as with performance improvements, all of which arrive based on the feedback received from users, the team of developers note in a blog post on Nokia Beta Labs.

Released as version 3.32.0.66, the new preview of Store client for S40 comes with the following:

- Various improvements and bug fixes. - Indicator for apps that your personal data is shared with. - Indicator for apps that offer “in-app purchase” to access additional features and content.

As mentioned above, the new application iteration was made available for download for S40 devices that feature both touchscreens and physical keyboards. Users should not try to install the app on any other handset, as it might cause them to become unresponsive and to require re-flashing.

“This preview is only available for S40 touch-and-type devices: Nokia Asha 202, Nokia Asha 203, Nokia Asha 300, Nokia Asha 303, Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03, Nokia C2-06, Nokia C2-07, Nokia C2-08, Nokia C3-01, Nokia C3-01 Gold Edition, and Nokia X3-02,” the aforementioned blog post reads.

The guys over at Nokia Beta Labs also encourage all users who will download and install the new application release on their devices to provide feedback on the experience they receive, so that more improvements could be added to it.
