Not tired of physics-based games? OK, here's another one for you, this time brought by Frozax Games, who specializes in both Mac and Windows games. By looking at the screens we've posted here, many of you will probably say this is a game for babies. Sure enough, there isn't any explosive action involved, nor does Spring Up! deliver cutting edge 3D visuals, but the amount of bouncing involved, demanding a great deal of attention, is going to be quite rewarding. Why don't you try out the free trial and see if we're right.

The realistic physics of Spring Up! offer "a unique experience with bouncing balls and bricks!"- says the official description, and I must say that having a go at the game myself, I was quite surprised to see yet another original concept for a casual game (I thought they'd covered all the fields by now).

Spring Up! offers a total of 72 levels set in 12 different worlds, with a gameplay that boasts realistic physics like no other. Think of it as a combination of Pinball and Bejeweled: you have to match colors, but using a bouncing ball which eventually has to drop. All you have to do is watch out which brick/ball is closer to your paddle, so you can catch as many as you can as they tumble down.

Also, players can use the blow of the fans, therebounds of the bumpers, the teleporters and various dynamic items to guide the balls. There are powerups too, of course, which can upgrade your paddle or increase your score multiplier. Watch out for the "bad" powerups though, as they will reduce the size of your paddle.

Using credits won by making big plays and combos, players can fill their (customizable) garden with around 50 upgradable items such as trees, statues, fountains, flowers and more. Players can ultimately upload their score on the Internet and even compare points and accuracy to other players.

Frozax Games is a recent company created in mid-2005 and located in Western Europe. The company is responsible for three internally-developed games thus far. Spring Up! has been priced at 20 bucks and is available immediately for Mac users.
