Network security solutions provider Stonesoft will host its first annual Cyber Security Summit in New York City on October 24, 2012. Among the topics that will be presented we find distributed denial-of-service attacks, vulnerability management, next-generation networking security,  and IT infrastructure testing.

The Summit’s main goal is to highlight the “truth” about what’s currently happening on both the defensive and the offensive sides of cyber security.

“Within the next couple of years, the world will experience more intentionally executed and demonstrated cyber-attacks,” said Dr. Jarno Limnell, director of cyber security at Stonesoft, and the one who will kick off the Summit with a keynote on cyber wars and their effects on organizations.

“The development of offensive cyber weapons will become fiercer and publicly more acceptable. Defense, resilience and offense make up the components required for a company or country to protect itself. You need them all,” he added.

Security experts from ING Direct, SunGuard Financial, CIGNA and Miami Holdings will also be present to share their insight on the latest cyber security matters.

Sponsors include Arbor Networks, Rapid 7 and Ixia. Qualified IT security senior executives can request invitations at [email protected].
