Police in the UK have managed to track down a Stradivarius violin which had been stolen three years ago.
The instrument is over 300 years old and it was in the possession of Korean-born violinist Min-Jin Kym when it was taken away.
The 1696 violin was stolen from a Pret-a-Manger location at Euston Station in London. The 35-year-old interpret said she only put it down for a second before it vanished.
“The loss of the instrument and the acute responsibility I felt, was at the back of my mind at every moment of the day,” she said.
She is now relieved because the precious violin, worth $1.84M (£1.2M / €1.38M) has finally been recovered. It was found by the British Transport Police in a house in the Midlands. Authorities mentioned getting a tip about its location but released no other details.
A Peccatte bow and a bow produced by the School of Bazin have also been recovered from the property, the Independent reports.
