Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is said once again to plan the launch of a stock Android-powered flavor of the HTC One, despite an official denial coming from the company itself.

According to a recent article on Pocket-lint, the "Google Edition" smartphone is indeed being prepared for release in the not too distant future, though it seems that it will be available in very limited quantities.

Although featuring the same hardware specifications as the original HTC One, the new model won’t sport HTC’s Sense UI loaded on top of Android.

No specific numbers have been provided as of now, but it seems that HTC will push out only around 50,000 vanilla Android HTC One smartphones.

Apparently, HTC decided to release the new model after archrival Samsung had officially announced a Galaxy S 4 version with no UI tweaks loaded on top.
