US Modular, one of the leading suppliers of memory and storage products, has announced the introduction of production support for its new line of memory solutions for mobile phones called Stik&Stor.

The new CompactFlash card has about 8GB of storage capacity and it's the size of a matchbox. The development of this solution was provoked by the huge number of applications for cellphones, such as MP3, PDA, portable video, mobile TV functionality, etc., coupled with the lack of increased on-board memory.

The additional memory capacity is added via a miniature external storage cell that can be adhered to all handsets, featuring microSD or T-Flash memory expansion slot. The card delivers 40X speed-rating, with a minimum sustained write speed capability of 6MB/s. Stik&Stor memory modules are equipped with Migo syncing software, which enables users to better organize and optimize their data. The 4GB Stik&Stor Card has the capacity to store: 24,000 640 X 480 photos, 48 hours of music, or 17 hours of video (or a combination of all three). More importantly, you can bypass your phone's operating system and access its internal storage directly.

The memory module will be available starting this month; the 1GB and 2GB flash versions of Stik&Stor are $79 and $99, respectively, whereas the 4GB and 8GB micro drive versions are $149 and $199, respectively.
