Steven Tyler is done with American Idol. After two seasons as judge on the panel, the rocker has decided it was high time he went back to his first love, his band, Aerosmith, he says in what can only be described as the most epic press statement ever.

Just as rumors were starting to pick up that Jennifer Lopez might not be the only one not to return to the 12th season of the singing competition, Tyler is setting the record straight: he's really not coming back either.

Jennifer Lopez is also officially out.

“After some long... hard... thoughts… I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit,” Tyler says in a press release cited by TV By the Numbers.

“I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band,” he adds.

This should come as great news for fans of the iconic band, especially since Tyler and his mates have awesome surprises in store for them.

“The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious [butt] – the ultimate in auditory takeover… On Nov. 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars…” Tyler explains.

“IDOL was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it’s time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD,” he adds.

If you don't know the meaning of “ermahgerd,” this meme will clear things up a bit for you.

As noted above, Lopez is also out of Idol after 2 season, saying she wants to focus more on her music and acting.

This leaves only Randy Jackson as judge but his involvement too is uncertain at this point. If one is to believe rumors online, producers are thinking of revamping the show by replacing everyone on the panel.

As of now, several names have been thrown in the conversation on possible new judges on AI, including those of Katy Perry, Fergie, Miley Cyrus, Adam Lambert, will.i.am and even Charlie Sheen.
