“On Sunday afternoon, Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe spoke with xfinityTV.com at the ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ auditions in Los Angeles and revealed some good news – news that Idol fans have hoped to hear all season,” Fancast writes.
“When asked if we’d see Aerosmith and J-Lo perform on the finale, Lythgoe offered an even better, more surprising response. ‘It will probably be before that, actually,’ he said,” says the same e-zine.
The reporter tried to press Lythgoe for details but he wouldn’t budge, saying he’d already revealed too much as it was.
“Actually, no, I told you that. It’s before then,” he stressed.
Speculation on whether the performances will be separate or whether it will be a duet has already begun.
Chances are there will be two different live performances, especially since Tyler and his Aerosmith bandmates have reached a form of agreement that will allow them to hit the studio for a new album and to prepare for a new tour.
All that will take place, of course, before season 2 of American Idol starts shooting, when his schedule will be officially full.
Still, even if Tyler will walk on the stage with his bandmates, that doesn’t exclude the possibility of having a Jennifer Lopez duet, voices online are pointing out.
Producers will probably opt for separate performance to ensure high ratings on two editions of the show, but there’s a slim chance of getting a duet – and many AI fans are betting on it.
