The very successful movie director is also said to be deeply involved in the creation of the upcoming Boom Box while also working on another two unannounced game titles and shooting the highly anticipated Indiana movie. Apparently Spielberg is part movie director,
part gamer and part Superman if he can juggle all of those commitments.

Talking to gameindustry.biz, Amir Rahimi, who is the lead producer on the Boom Blox project, declared his surprise when he observed how involved Steven Spielberg was with games. He says "I was actually pretty surprised to find out how much of a gamer Steven Spielberg is. He - regularly, when we meet with him - makes references to games that a lot of us game developers haven't played or haven't played in years. But also recent games, like Crysis, he talks a lot about".

Well, Crytek marketed the game as being a "cinematic" experience so its only fitting for a movie director to talk about it. I wonder what did he think of the rather quick and grim exit of Aztec. From a cinematic point of view, of course.

Rahimi also talked about the ideas the veteran movie director had for other games he will produce together with Electronic Arts. One of them is codenamed LMNO and is a hybrid action and adventure game which is currently in the early stages of development, with Rahimi saying "that one takes a little longer to make, so that one will come out later." There's also a Spielberg game that never made it on the market, despite going through the development process at EA.

Even if Indiana Jones is the next big movie coming out with Spielberg signature on it there's no involvement from the director in the upcoming LEGO Indiana Jones game and Electronic Arts are, at the moment, only interested in doing original intellectual property with Spielberg.

Boom Blox will be a Wii exclusive title, featuring some 400 single player levels. It also comes with complete multiplayer support and a level editor. The release date is scheduled for May 6.
