Steven Seagal is very serious when it comes to his music career.
It seems that the action man has received a positive response from radio station bosses who have listened to a demo he had submitted under a pseudonym.
Seagal is said to have been secretly recording a new album, MOJO PRIEST, in Memphis, Tennessee. He hopes to complete the album by the end of this year and perform tracks at pal Morgan Freeman's Zero club in Clarksdale, Mississippi, on New Year's Eve, according to Contactmusic.
"Blues is my real passion, and I've always wanted to do a blues record. I've had very close relationships with a lot of the great legends, many of whom I got to play with", Seagal told Billboard.com.
The actor was thrilled that he got the help of many talented people, including the members of Muddy Waters band.
"It has been an emotional, powerful experience... We had folks that were there, in my opinion, at the real beginning of the blues", the actor declared.
Seagal confessed he would have loved to work with some of his heroes.
"LITTLE MILTON, GATEMOUTH BROWN and RL BURNSIDE were friends of mine and they were all scheduled to play on this record, but they all suddenly passed away. We lost three within a month."
Steven Seagal, 54 is one of the most popular action movies heroes, most appreciated for his skills in Aikido, Karate, Judo and Kendo. The former bodyguard who studied Zen in Japan was the first American to have opened a martial arts school in the Asian country.
From "Above the Law' (1988), "Under Siege" (directed by Andrew Davis), "The Patriot" (1999) and "Exit Wound" (2001), to the recently completed "Submerged" and "Today You Die" (2005), Seagal became more admired for his attitude. "Trust your doubt. Always fight for your beliefs. That is the path beyond thought", Steven Seagal thinks.
