As recently announced by Axiotron, Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak is now part of the Mac-modder's Board of Advisors. This has granted Woz the privilege to showcase the latest Mac tablets available from the only company that produces them legally, at the Macworld Expo, booth #502 (Axiotron).

“We’re thrilled to bring Steve onto our Board of Advisors,” Andreas E. Haas (Axiotron CEO) said, upon appointing Mr. Wozniak as one of his company's counselors. “His deep knowledge and experience are an invaluable resource for Axiotron. Steve’s forward-thinking and non-conformist approach, his incredibly creative engineering designs, and his emphasis on the human aspects of technology have always been an inspiration to me.”

For those who aren't very familiar with Axiotron, the company specializes in modding Apple notebooks to create stylus-based, tablet Macs going by the name of “Modbooks.” Woz has been welcomed in the company to assist its engineers in developing ever better solutions to mod Mac portables. Axiotron perceives him as “a trailblazer at the dawn of the personal computing revolution.” The company admires the Apple co-founder “for the ingenuity of his designs for the home-built Apple I machine, and its enormously popular successor, Apple II.”

While Mr. Haas will offer Macworld attendees insight into Axiotron's unique development process as well as the technologies they use to create the ModBooks, Mr. Wozniak will play a more didactic role, by proposing his vision of how the Mac tablet may represent a bridge between old and new technological feats.

“I look forward to Steve’s participation at Macworld,” Mr. Haas revealed in a more recent statement. “His excitement about our Modbook has been both gratifying and inspiring. As fellow Newton MessagePad enthusiasts, Steve and I share the desire to bring back some of those powerful pen tablet features that have been dormant for so long, and I am delighted to present some of what we have been working on.”
